Random people found Charlie and immediately notified volunteers of  the misfortune, who arrived at the scene, right away. The dog’s hind paw did not bend in the joint and Charlie was putting it on the ground. It can be said that it actually barely held on. It bothered the pet to sit and lie down… In addition, fingers, when rubbed against the ground, tore into the blood  and you could already see the bones. Horrible sight, so much suffering, that’s unimaginable.

In a veterinary clinic, a vet, of course, ordered an X-ray followed by a diagnosis that someone has already performed inept osteosynthesis. Where and for what purpose the wire was placed there – it’s really hard to imagine… Most likely, they wired the paw as it fell, damaging the paw completely. The wire damaged the joint, muscles and tendons, as a result, we had a huge doggy torment which fortunately is already behind him, and disability… Poor Charlie will have to learn to live anew with three limbs.

Nobody knows who treated Charlie, and who tried to help him so ineptly, but we hope that any other pet hasn’t been harmed, in this way… As it is, Charlie can’t run in the wild.

Charlie underwent the first surgery – the wire, that was such a nuisance, was removed, however, the wound on the paw healed poorly. The only advantage was that Charlie didn’t put his paw on the ground and did not rub his fingers. Unfrortunately, we had to make a difficult decision to amputate the paw that would always bother Charlie and cause pain in the knee. We didn’t want this poor fellow to suffer when walking, standing up, and generally – normal functioning…

At present, Charlie recovers and slowly gets used to life without one paw, has an appetite. The dog stays in the clinic for rehabilitation, then we are going to find him a loving home where he will feel safe.

We desparately need Your financial aid in order to pay for Charlie’s operations and rehabilitation. We count on Your support, active sharing, commenting and penny support, as fas as possible. Every penny counts!
